How to Film & Submit Videos for Pro Expert Review
Getting personalized feedback from HQCheer Pro Experts starts with submitting a great video. This guide walks you through everything you need to know — from setting up your camera to receiving your detailed review.
A well-prepared video leads to better, more actionable feedback. Here's what to do before you hit record:
Decide which specific skill you want reviewed. Focus on one skill per video — this helps our experts give you detailed, targeted feedback rather than general observations.
Use a well-lit area with enough room to perform safely. Gyms, studios, or open outdoor spaces work best. Make sure the background isn't too cluttered so your form is clearly visible.
Position your phone or camera at waist height, about 8-10 feet away. Use landscape (horizontal) orientation. A tripod or stable surface is ideal — shaky footage makes it harder to analyze technique.
Always warm up properly before filming. Cold muscles lead to poor technique and increased injury risk. Show your best, most consistent execution — not your first attempt of the day.
Follow these five steps to submit your video for Pro Expert review:
Sign in to your HQCheer account and navigate to the Video Review section from your dashboard. Make sure you have credits available.
Choose the skill category that matches your video: Tumbling, Stunts, Baskets, Jumps, or Pyramids. Then select the specific skill and your current level.
Click the upload button and select your video file. Accepted formats include MP4, MOV, and AVI. Maximum file size is 500MB.
Tell your reviewer what you're working on. Include any specific areas you want feedback on, recent corrections, or goals you're working toward.
Review your submission details, confirm your credit usage (1 credit per review), and hit Submit. You'll receive an email confirmation.
Your video is matched with a Pro Expert who specializes in the skill category you selected. This typically happens within a few hours.
Your expert watches your video multiple times, analyzing technique, form, timing, and execution. They prepare personalized feedback with specific corrections and drills.
You'll receive a notification when your review is ready — typically within 24-48 hours. Your review includes a skill rating, written feedback, recommended drills, and a progress assessment.
Work on the recommended drills and corrections, then submit a new video to track your improvement. Many athletes see measurable progress after just 2-3 review cycles.
Most reviews are completed within 24-48 hours. During peak times (competition season), it may take up to 72 hours.
