All Access Cheer Universe LLC ("HQCheer") is committed to protecting the privacy of children who use our platform. This Children's Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information from children under 13 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). This policy supplements our general Privacy Policy.
HQCheer complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which requires us to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under 13, provide parents with notice of our data collection practices, give parents the ability to review and delete their child's information, and not condition a child's participation on providing more information than reasonably necessary.
With verified parental consent, we may collect the following information from users under 13: first name and last initial (not full last name), date of birth (to verify age and set appropriate protections), parent or guardian email address (for consent and communication), skill level and progression data, video submissions for coaching review, and account preferences. We do not collect more information than is reasonably necessary for the child to participate in HQCheer's cheerleading education features.
Before a child under 13 can create a HQCheer account or provide personal information, we require verifiable parental consent through the following process: the child (or parent) initiates account creation and provides a parent/guardian email, we send a consent notification to the parent/guardian email, the parent must verify their identity and provide affirmative consent, and the child's account is not activated until parental consent is confirmed. Parents may provide consent via email verification with follow-up confirmation, or through our Make.com-powered consent workflow that logs consent details including timestamp, IP address, and parent identification.
Information collected from children under 13 is used only to provide HQCheer's cheerleading education services, track skill progression and provide appropriate coaching, facilitate video review services with parental consent, communicate with the parent/guardian about the child's account, and ensure the safety and security of the child's experience on the platform. We do not use children's information for marketing purposes or share it with third parties for their marketing use.
For users identified as under 13, HQCheer automatically restricts cookies to "Essential Only" through our COPPA-aware cookie consent system. This means no analytics cookies are placed for under-13 users, no marketing or advertising cookies are used, only cookies necessary for authentication and core functionality are active, and this restriction is applied automatically based on the date of birth in the user's Memberstack profile. See our Cookie Policy for more information.
HQCheer uses the following third-party services that may process children's data, all of which are COPPA-compliant:
We do not share children's personal information with any third parties for purposes unrelated to providing HQCheer services.
Parents and legal guardians have the right to review their child's personal information, request deletion of their child's personal information, refuse further collection or use of their child's information, and revoke consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@hqcheer.com with the subject line "COPPA Request." We will verify your identity as the child's parent or guardian before processing the request.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect children's personal information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure authentication through Memberstack, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we become aware of a security breach affecting children's data, we will notify affected parents promptly in accordance with applicable law.
We retain children's personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services. When a child's account is deleted (by parent request or account closure), personal information is deleted within 30 days. Video submissions are removed from our systems within 90 days. Anonymized, aggregate data (not linked to any child) may be retained for platform improvement.
HQCheer uses a date-of-birth field during registration to identify users under 13. When a user is identified as under 13, enhanced privacy protections are automatically applied, including COPPA-compliant cookie settings, restricted data collection, and parental consent requirements. Users aged 13-17 are subject to additional protections as outlined in our general Privacy Policy.
In addition to COPPA, HQCheer complies with applicable Texas state laws regarding children's privacy and data protection. Texas residents may have additional rights under state law.
